The Israeli Sharon-Carmel Municipal District Association for Environmental Protection has deployed the SpiDAR-ENV as part of an environmental and air pollution survey in Umm al-Fahm for the National Roads Authority (Netivei Israel).
The SpiDAR-ENV wind measurements are being used to improve the environmental models and for better understanding the air pollutants that potentially could be released from new main roads.
Additional capabilities such as determining the cloud base height (Ceilometer) and boundary layer will be added to the SpiDAR-ENV in the near future and will bring the SpiDAR-ENV to be the most cost-effective sensor for air pollution control and other environmental applications as well.
