As one of the first quad core ARM64b systems on a chip for leading business and residential PON gateways, the Freescale QorIQ LS1043A is seeing its debut at Freescales’ premier customer and partner event, the Freescale Technical Forum, this week in Austin, Texas. Hot from the factory, the Freescale LS1043A processor and the production shipping Quantenna MU-MIMO enabled 11ac chipset are able to deliver multi-gigabit wireless performance for a variety of demanding applications such as multi-user concurrent high performance streaming and hardware enforced quality of service for high quality Wi-Fi voice, ultra-high definition video streams and large file data transfers.
The need for this level of performance in homes, enterprise and public hotspots is quickly outmatching the current wireless technologies. Burgeoning 11ac clients in devices such as the iPhone 6 are pushing the demand for next generation high performance WLAN.
