Pentalum technologies expands market presence in china
Pentalum Technologies, developer and manufacturer of the SpiDAR wind LiDAR, increased its market presence in China with new purchase orders from three major wind turbine OEMs for multiple ground-based and nacelle-mounted SpiDARs. These orders are added to the already deployed and operating SpiDAR fleet in China, supported by Pentalum's local partner, Qingdao-based Primanex.
Pentalum has focused on the emerging Chinese wind market over the last two years, with multiple SpiDAR validation campaigns in a variety of environmental conditions all across China. Pentalum also recently completed a successful trial with the China Meteorological Administration (CMA).
“China has the world’s largest wind power installation capacity and we see a strong demand in this market to our products,” says Gil Shamai, Vice President of Business Development. “The SpiDAR’s excellent performance in China is beginning to pay off. These recent purchase orders show the high confidence of Chinese wind industry leaders in Pentalum’s technology."
Pentalum’s SpiDAR wind LiDAR is based on patented direct-detection technology and has already amassed over 4,000,000 hours of wind measurements across the globe.
Pentalum, established in 2009, develops the SpiDAR™ - an innovative, cost-effective LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) system, for remote sensing of wind.
The SpiDAR’s unique architecture and operation method enable the use of common, reliable components allowing Pentalum to maintain low component and production costs. These savings are passed directly to the customer, which enables wind farm developers and operators to deploy multiple units in a single site.
Pentalum is committed to providing its customers with advanced wind sensing technology and high quality engineering support. Pentalum is headquartered in Israel and is backed by several notable investors including global leaders as ABB and GE.
